Phaungdawoo Pagoda, Inle-Lake

Without doubt, the Phaungdawoo Pagoda is such a brilliant and magical site in Asia. Locating in front of the main boat landing in Ywama Village, the pagoda owns five Buddha Images, revered by local inhabitants. This Pagoda in Ywama is not onle well- known to locals but also tourists visiting Inle Lake.

The annual pagoda festival usually takes place during October, in about 18 days with the big scale. They lay Buddha's images on a beautiful royal barge which is moved around the lake by leg-rowers. There are a large number of boats following the procession. And so many crowds stand on the edges of the lake to celebrate the occasion. If you attend it, you will feel such a magnificent sight.

Moreover, you can also watch and join in the dance shows and festival fairs. However, boat race is the most interesting event to all attendants, especially for foreign tourists. It is very unique and impressive for the leg rowing.
