Putao Exploring

In the morning, you are picked up to Malikha Lodge as soon as you arrive at Putao Airport. Have lunch and prepare yourself to start this tour with an elephant tour in the afternoon. It will be an exciting trip because you will ride your elephant through the fast flowing clear waters of the Nam Lang River and cross the terraced rice fields to the Yegyawdi village, or downstream along the banks for Nam Lang River. Come back to the lodge by a river crossing. In the evening, have dinner and drinks in the mild atmosphere and beautiful night at Malikha Lodge.

Option 1: Hiking to Putao

The total time of hiking is about 6 hours.

After breakfast, we start from the lodge, through the bamboo forest and halt at the beautiful Nam Htu creek. Have a walk along the river side for sightseeing and breathing in the cool air. On the way, we cross to the Rawang tribe village, and walk through the rain forest. You will be excited with the peaceful nature, and the snowcap mountain within seeing distance. Halt at Ho Hping Shan tribe villages for taking some knowledge about daily life of people in minority ethics in the mountainous area, and have lunch. Through the bamboo bridge, we come to Lisu tribe village of Ber Inn and from here, reach to the town of Putao and drive back to the lodge. Relax and have a great evening.

OR - Option 2: Hiking to Nam Plak creek.

Hiking to Nam Plak creek is an interesting trip because on the way, you will explore the nature besides taste picturesque views and take some knowledge about the life in Burmese mountainous areas. After breakfast, we drive to Air-port market - the starting point of our walk. Through from village to village, you can see Lisu tribe and Kachin tribe with their daily life and their houses in unique architectural art. After about 3 hours of walking, we halt for picnic lunch, and continue to hike to Pan Hlaing village. Close the tour, we drive back to the lodge after about the 5 hours in total of walking.

OR - Option 3: Full day rafting

Rafting - an exciting activity which will be offered for you, when you are here - Putao. After breakfast at the lodge, we walk to starting point under the suspension bridge. All of needs are brought as in the guide's suggestion. During the tour, you will get wonderful experiences with many different kinds of water ducks. The natural views appear as the perfect combination of crystal water, blue sky, and green trees. On the way, you will meet Malikha River, before reach to the island for the lunch. Relax and taste the cool air during about an hour, then drive back to Naung Kaing village by engine boat. Travel by car during about an hour, we reach to our lodge, and close today tour.

Start early in the morning to visit Putao Morning Market, a right place for local trading of vegetables, fruits, and many local specialties: honey, exotic orchids, medicinal plants and handicrafts. Go around the market for watch local costume, take some photos and taste some dishes. Then come back and have a light meal at Malika Lodge, check out and transfer to Putao Airport to connect with your onwards flight in the direction of Mandalay and Yangon.
